String broke in just 1st game. Not happy

Hi Jay,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience.

The N61 is a premium performance string that is highly regarded by advanced and elite players for its exceptional feel and repulsion. However, at just 0.61mm, it is designed for performance and is naturally less durable than thicker strings.

When strung at the very high tension of 31lbs, as requested, the sweet spot becomes much smaller, meaning off-centre impacts place significantly greater stress on the string bed and can unfortunately cause premature breakage. This is a characteristic of ultra-thin, high-performance strings and can occur even at the professional level.

Based on the information provided, the breakage is consistent with the demands placed on an ultra-thin string at such a high tension rather than any fault with the racket itself. While we understand how frustrating a broken string can be, this type of breakage can occur during normal play with a performance-focused setup such as N61 at 31lbs.

For club and intermediate players, we would generally recommend a more durable string such as the N68 or N70, or a lower tension of 24–26lbs. These setups provide a larger sweet spot, greater forgiveness, and improved durability while still offering excellent playability.
